The New, Expanded Argus Farm Stop

Spring/summer murals on the windows of the original Argus Farm Stop.
This shop opened a few years ago, and sells on consignment from local farmers.
Produce, dairy products, meat, and hand-made items are available, as well as a café.

The enlarged café area.

Entrance of the newly added store front, with much more produce.
The two stores are in the same block, but not side-by-side.

Inside the new store: a very large rooster.

Best of all: locally grown strawberries! We ate almost a whole quart of them for lunch.

  2. How lucky both you and the local farmers are to have this in your community.

  3. Great post. We also try to buy local and this place looks just very good! Creative. Yummy.

  4. Yeah we don't have anything like this except our Farmers Market .... but it seems great to have a shop like this!

  5. The window painting is eye-catching! That kind of "farmers' market" would do well here. Especially with a cafe attached to it. Fresh fruit and veggies are always best.

  6. I'm dying for really good strawberries. My crop was so paltry -- partly blocked by sun from perennials, partly eaten by birds or whatever. I love the shop windows, too!

  7. What adorable shop windows. Those really call attention to the items inside, too. So glad you shared these, but I am so jealous of your strawberries and big ripe red tomatoes in that last photo.

  8. 'Know your farmer, know your food'... That's so right, but sometimes impossible

  9. The flowers in the shop windows are adorable :)
Looks like a beautiful shop with fresh produce, a win for the farmers and for the public.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Mae.

  10. Nice way of selling local products. Certainly deserves to be emulated.

  11. Pretty work on the glass, there. They complement the plants and produce. :)
