The weather this week has been glorious! Just a bit of weekend rain. |
Perfect for eating and drinking outdoors. |
A New Patio Table
Inspired, we went to Ace Hardware and bought a new table for the patio: one that doesn’t wobble! |
I made some Impossible meatballs. On a lucky day, Trader Joe’s has Impossible meat, which I bought. Impossible meat runs out of stock quickly. |
We brought the meatballs outside to eat at the new table. Now for new chairs... |
To Ikea for Chairs
Ikea seemed like the right place to buy some chairs for the patio table. The sign makes me laugh: surely everyone fills their marketplace cart with impulse purchases of kitchen toys. |
Ikea uses symbols everywhere. |
A new Ikea chair at the new table. Also, a new tray: an impulse purchase. (The red tray is an older Ikea impulse purchase). The lunchtime drink is Trader Joe’s sparkling water, in honor of Elizabeth’s weekly blog party. |
New wine glasses -- also from Ikea. |
UPDATE: to those who asked what is Impossible Meat -- it's a lab-grown imitation meat. It's vegan, but tastes like meat. Burger King offers an Impossible Whopper which is amazing. Some people might have objections, but I do not.

Beautiful purchases! I have never heard of impossible meat but I will have to keep an eye out for that. Your meal looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
Hoq fun to eat outside and at a new table with new chairs. Okay, what is impossible meat? Fake meat? I have never been to either Ikea or Trader Joes,
ReplyDeletebut I would love to go to both! Happy t day.
I really like your new table. It looks beautiful in your back yard. And it looks like a great place to dine, and all your food looks yummy. Isn't it great to be able to enjoy outside time? Have a wonderful T day Mae. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYour patio area is beautiful. We are beginning to eat outdoors also.
ReplyDeleteI have had Impossible meat a couple of time and really do like it.
Hmmmm. OK, carrots wait in the fridge, cut down yesterday. Cheese will be added :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd olives.
Love the IKEA signs - need to visit, too!
Great walks, I love sun and rain - happy T-Day!
Enjoy many happy meals at your new table. What is impossible meat?
ReplyDeleteThe new table looks great, this is a good time of year to eat outide. I've never heard of impossible meat! Ikea has a great selection of things that tempt us, but it's not a store I like visiting. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful table. I wish we had an IKEA here. I don't think there is one in all of Kansas. The chairs go nicely with the table. You have a beautiful yard. Nice landscaping, too.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just adore those Lock and Lock containers? They are my favorite. Trader Joe's sparkling water sounds good. We finally got a Trader Joe's in Wichita. We are officially on the map (grin). Thanks for sharing your new purchases and your sparkling water with us for T this Tuesday, dear Mae.
Hello Mae,
ReplyDeleteI love your new table and the chairs. I have never tried the impossible meat, I wonder if my hubby would like it. He is a meat eater. Take care, have a great day and week ahead!
What a nice place you have for eating outside, made even nicer by your new table and chairs. Lookin' good! Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteLab grown meat.. how interesting... Would you tell us a little more about the taste and texture.. I think i have seen it at the store and wouldn't mind giving us a meatless option now and then... Is it high in sodium... i know deb go read the label...lol What a great patio table! and tray! We have to enjoy the outdoors here early morning or early evening to even be bearable.. tomorrow it hits 107 F ... uuughh.. Next week promises to be cooler... Happy T day! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new patio table. It’s lovely. And so good you could get chairs to go with it at IKEA. I love IKEA, but we don’t have one in our province. The nearest one is a three hour drive.
ReplyDeleteI had heard someone write about impossible meat, but I didn’t know what it was. I don’t like the sound of that. Fake meat! Just the thought of it would make me heave! ( however nice it might taste).
Happy T- Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
I like your new table and your backyard is so pretty. I also love eating outdoors. Have not tried the Impossible meats but we have Beyond Burgers to grill for tomorrow's lunch.
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Our new table is perfect for your outside dining and wow, I'd happily join you for your meal and wine too - yum 😁. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs Jo x
ReplyDeleteLast week we sheltered in the air conditioner. This week, it's cold!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely backyard!

Your magnolia tree is just gorgeous. So nice to be able to sit outside for meals or just a break. The new patio table and chairs look very nice. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteWonderful new table and chairs to enjoy this season ~ I haven't tried the impossible "meat" is it gluten free too? if yes, it will be a winner! I have a similar tulip magnolia that bloomed so early he froze this year ~ But he'll bloom again :) Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to eat outdoors! Love the new table and chairs etc. Does anyone ever come out of IKEA with just what they went for?(smiling) I love sparkling water. Happy T Day, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteLovely yard and very nice new accessories for the patio. I don't shop TJ. It's too far away and I have never been in an Ikea store. That is even further away from me. LOL However, I did know what Impossible meat is. Have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteYour IKEA chairs look great with that table! That's similar to our lake table (yours looks longer, but same metal type) and it's a wonderful table in every way! And Barbaresco! A favorite. Have you been to Cantoro's Italian Market (and excellent restaurant, too) -- Haggerty at almost Five Mile. You must go. Terrific wine, wonderful bakery, deli, produce! It's a must every time we visit the kids. The IKEA "Conscious choices" sign cracked me up. I'm thinking most of my IKEA choices are anything but!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I love the reminder at IKEA to consciously plan one's purchases. It sounds good anyway.
ReplyDeleteLove the "fill your cart with conscious decisions" that's hilarious for IKEA as you're right and I'm sure there's not a lot of conscious thought going on in the marketplace haha. Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx
