The hummingbird feeders are the most attractive feature at Santa Rita Lodge. |

Many wild turkeys feed on the seeds that have dropped from the feeders. |

The little dove is a Ruddy Dove. The big one is a White Winged Dove. |
We left Tucson at around 8 this morning, and arrived in Madera Canyon shortly before 9 AM to watch the famous hummingbird feeders and other birds at Santa Rita Lodge and look around the area a bit. After a quick picnic lunch, we drove to Patagonia, AZ, where we have a rental apartment for a few days of birding and looking around. We’ve been to these places before, but this time we have more time to spend. We’re quite pleased, so far, with the rental.

ReplyDeleteAll the photos are lovely but that goldfinch opener is just spectacular with the wonderful lighting. This sounds like a perfect trip for you two!
ReplyDeleteOhhh these are fabulous photos. Have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteI love that first photo. I feel so inadequate to even comment. I know robins and cardinals. That is the extent of my bird knowledge, I fear.
ReplyDeleteHello Mae,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous birds and photos. I would enjoy watching all the hummers come to the feeders. Having a rental apartment in the area sounds like a great idea.
