More Lancaster Birding

Shovelers

Black Duck

Black Ducks and Sandhill Crane.

Local boys exploring the mud. Later on, they walked past us on the road and their coats and boots
were covered with mud! They talked to us a bit about a rare bird that had spent some time at their home.
Several hundred birders had flocked to their yard to see this unusual visitor.

  1. How nice you were able to interact with the locals. Somehow, I am always impressed with the cranes.

  4. There are several Mennonite birders here too. They are notable by their state-of-the-art expensive binoculars!
