A very new celebratory day: Library Shelfie Day. Today for the seventh year, on the fourth Wednesday in January, is a day to celebrate your library shelves with a photo. You can celebrate your Kindle too. When I read about this obscure celebration, I couldn’t resist!

You have an interesting collection of books. I am always nosy about what other people have on the shelf.
ReplyDeleteFun! Hadn't heard about this, but like the idea. The only physical books we have left are some cookbooks -- reading most things on my phone these days (often using the Libby app so I can borrow books from my library). Neat post -- thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! I've gutted my shelves as I try to downsize, so mine wouldn't make the statement they used to.
ReplyDeleteA worthy celebration.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this either. Love your books and the statue.
ReplyDeleteMy library shelves need to be reorganized and books need to be off the ground. I gave away over half of my books over the past two months, so much so the library and senior center stopped accepting donations from its donors. No space! I don't mind as I get to keep the rest of the books without feeling guilty!
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know about National Shelfie Day. I posted mine. I love the sculpture beside your bookshelf.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you. If I had known I would posted also.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun "holiday!" Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I will do this later today on instagram. Loved getting a peak of the books you have on your shelves.
ReplyDeleteNever knew of this! Oh, I have too many books, maybe I join you later today, fun idea!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE seeing peoples' shelves! Yours are divinely eclectic and fun. (And I love your statue!)
ReplyDeleteHow neat is this~ I've never heard of Library Shelfie Day and am surprised neither of the libraries where I have cards did not seem to mention it (I get emails from the Oregon one which I use even while we're here in Florida, thanks to Kindle E-Books that I borrow.... I see a Louise Erdrich book on your shelf that I don't remember reading. Off to look that one up! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWell hello again -- it didn't take long to discover the obvious reason why I don't remember "The Sentence." I didn't realize she had a new book out. This one sounds quite different from her usual! My Library has a six-month long wait list for the Kindle edition -- I put it on my wish list.
ReplyDeleteSuper post
