Mona Lisa and Wine

My hobby for a long time has been collecting parodies and reworkings of the Mona Lisa. It's been a while since I added to my collection or posted anything, but I decided to look for new material. Here are a few images I found online in various places. So many people collect and post Mona Lisa images online that the same ones come up over and over, often attributed to different people and often modified a lot or a little. As a result, I'll just show you the images -- that's all!

One more Mona Lisa that's not wine-related, but comes from a famous painter with a clear source:

Jasper Johns, "Racing Thoughts" (1983)

I'm sharing this with all the bloggers at Elizabeth's weekly event where all the participants feature a drink!

  2. I left a long comment earlier and got an error message. Regardless, here's most of what I wrote before.

I saw this earlier, but had to lie down. I overdid myself this morning early. The first one is my favorite, I think, but they are all quite clever and well done. Than you for another outside the box T post this week, dear Mae.

You mentioned palm oil in your comment on soap today. Palm oil has gotten a bad rap in the last few years, mainly because some palm oil farmers won't adhere to the rules of no deforestation and other things. Palm oil is no more expensive than coconut or olive oil, yet it costs far less to manufacture, to harvest, to sustain. It renews itself faster and requires less water than corn, soy beans, and maize. I hope those who are banning palm oil, especially soap and beauty product companies, rethink their values. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share this soap on my blog.

  4. I think this is an interesting collection Mae. I knew many liked Mona but I didn't know so many people created different forms of art with her as the star. MY favorite is the first one with money in the sex black dress and the glass of wine. Perfect for T. Have a great T day week. Hugs-Erika

I bet she would love this, too, instead of being stared at so seriously, hanging there since like forever!
