Train tracks follow the Columbia River on both the Washington and the Oregon side. They cary miles of freight, including lots of containers, which is on our minds because of the current shipping problems nationwide.
In the town of The Dalles we saw a train up close. Otherwise always from far away.

ReplyDeleteVery little freight is carried by our trains here. It's all done by road.
ReplyDeleteI'd give a lot if passenger trains were a more regular part of travel opportunities. The freight trains are fun to watch.
