Rainbows and Waterfalls in Iceland

Iceland is famous for waterfalls. Because the land was formed by volcanic eruptions, the rock is very porous, so the water percolates through the rock or flows out of the many glaciers, forming the fijords.

At the beginning of our trip on the National Geographic Explorer, we saw a rainbow in the harbor.
Do you think the pot of gold was really in that big cruise ship?

I’m about to go on another trip this week…

  3. When Erika went to Iceland, I started looking for images to create art journal pages that were from travel magazines. One of the first things I noticed was all the wonderful waterfalls that Iceland seems to be so famous for. Great photos, dear Mae.
