Around Ann Arbor

Yellow things in the park: a goldfinch near the railroad tracks.

A yellow lane marker for little boats.

A yellow skull at practice.

A yellow flower with a fuzzy bee.

Drone’s eye view of the Huron River.

Spider in my backyard.

In the Arboretum: pink flowers

The Huron River also flows through the Arb, a favorite Ann Arbor spot.

The owners said this white dog doesn’t like to be muddy.
It was drinking from the river in quite a dainty way.

  2. I enjoyed reading about Ann Arbor and seeing the city through your lens. I loved the focus on yellow in the beginning and the drone photo of the river. It is a beautiful city and I feel like it is far more friendly than the city where I live.

  3. Hi Mae, thanks for the nice comment about my garden. To answer your question. I live in Florence, OR 1/2 mile from the ocean 3 blocks from the river. The weather sucks here. LOL

  4. That spider's web is quite large. Are they poisonous spiders?

  5. I only hear about Ann Arbor on some projects that I prepare in our company. Never thought it's a beautiful place! That bee is so big, I am scared with insects especially flying ones haha. That cute dog does look very dainty, you took the shot while showing it Mae! If I'm not mistaken that is a Samoyed, one of the most expensive dog breeds.

Thank you very much Mae for your compliments on my blog's new look and feel, I very much appreciate it :) Hope I can try more food during this pandemic (that's the only travel we can do at the moment since it's still so bad here in the Philippines) and hopefully I can share the taste and who knows, recipes with you all my dear blog friends!

  6. Love the photos. The goldfinches are prolific here and come in swarms.... then they are gone.

I have a few bird photos I took which I’d love your help with identifying. They are large and I’ll post in a few days. I need a better bird book.

  7. I visited Ann Arbor just once and many years ago, on business. Unfortunately I have little recollection of the city, but it looks quite charming. The goldfinch at the start of your post is a handsome little bird.
