More Wabash Walls in Lafayette, Indiana

The Wabash Walls project in Lafayette, Indiana, is a very large project, with highly varied murals on many types of structures. My sister, brother-in-law, and I walked around the Wabash neighborhood to see many of these, and I posted some while I was visiting there (here: Wabash Walls). Here are more of the photos we took that day. I wanted to share them with the mural enthusiasts at Sami's "Monday Murals."

Elaine and Larry in front of an interesting house.

The other side of the house has these great mice.

A simpler mural on another house.

Wonderfully decorated warehouse!

I wondered who these children were!

Some houses were decorated in other ways.

MEANWHILE, in Ann Arbor on a sunny morning, people are painting “The Rock” —

The Rock is being painted in the colors of Columbia, to express solidarity with the uprising
taking place there this week. As many as 37 demonstrators have been killed, and many more injured.

  3. I saw the rocking horse and forgot about any and everything else (grin). Seriously, these are wonderful. I loved the warehouse. And that rock gets a good painting when there is some reason to paint it. Fitting for Columbia!

  4. Just saw your Mom's Day question to Erika. She lives in New Hampshire, a state that seemingly has no or very few murals (grin).

  7. The mice are amazing, and I would not mind butterflies on my wall. We've been away so I've not heard anything about the uprisings. I will have to read the news later.

  11. I think that in North America we have not embraced the creative use of murals to the extent that it has been done in many other parts of the world, and more's the pity.

  12. Love the idea of the painted houses, so pretty.
I like the mice, although I'm scared of them, but the mural is quite well done. The butterflies and the lady in the warehouse are wonderful too.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Mae.
