New photos from an afternoon walk:

Much of the ice has melted at Ford Lake. |

The red-winged blackbirds have just returned from their winter habitat, which may be as far as 800 miles from here. Seeing them and hearing their song is a real sign of spring!

Spring has definitely arrived here..sunny and the temperature in the afternoon even reached to 15C.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like spring to me. What hopeful photos Mae.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly looks like spring has sprung.
ReplyDeleteSpring seems to be showing its head in your world right now. I hope it continues that way. Even the birds are starting to sing, at least it seems that way when I saw the blackbird.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking like that around here, too, and oh, how welcome! I haven't seen crocus yet but the daffs are starting to peek up!
ReplyDeleteThe beginning signs of Spring :) I've seen red-winged blackbirds out in the country along highways but never in the city. What a treat!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely pictures :) We went for a walk a couple of days ago and spotted daffodiles, primroses, daisies, cherry trees in bloom (and other trees), snowdrops, dandelions... All at the same time, that's weird, but pretty to look at.
ReplyDeletePretty! Everything here is still under snow.

Those snow drop flowers were my mom’s favourites you’ve inspired me to plant some around her tree next year.
ReplyDeleteYou have to be very careful of those black birds, they’ve attacked many people just walking by in High Park, Toronto.

Normally, our area would be abloom, but the harsh freeze killed or knocked back everything.
ReplyDeleteWe've had some truly lovely weather here. I hope Spring is getting ready to stay for a while.
ReplyDeleteSpring is really around the corner!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!
Hello,
ReplyDeleteIt is beginning to look like spring, the flowers are pretty. We are still having cold temps.
I love the view of the water, the swans and the heron. I like hearing the Red-winged Blackbird, they have a nice sound. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, enjoy your weekend! PS, thank you for visiting and leaving me a comment.
Yay to spring! The delicate flower looks nice.
ReplyDeleteSo many signs of spring here. We are a little behind you, but getting there. Much of our snow is melting and warmer weather is on the way. Red-winged Blackbirds have been here for about a week and I am keeping a close eye out for the first Killdeer. It's a great time of the year.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope it is a joyful spring! :-)
ReplyDeleteMae,
ReplyDeleteI always loved seeing the very fist flowers peeking their heads through just before spring. It used to be the crocus and my mint. Both seemed to want to pop up despite the cold weather. I miss that in Florida but I am enjoying the nice warm beach weather. Your photos from your walk of the birds are lovely.
I can hardly wait!
ReplyDeleteHello,:=) We have wild crocus showing their pretty heads right now on our farm, it's the first sign that Spring is drawing near.Beautiful images of the lake with the swans and Heron.
ReplyDeleteWe love the song of the blackbird! Beautiful photos! Spring is in the air!
ReplyDeleteSpring seems to be slowly on its way here. Nice photos.
