From here to immunity?

A happy Valentine for this weekend: we managed to find appointments to get covid vaccine on Friday and Saturday.

Waiting for covid vaccine: two ladies with their noses outside their masks.

We were among the lucky ones who scored a vaccine appointment when Rite Aid received a shipment yesterday. The available appointments were in Wayne, MI, around 20 miles from our home, not a problem. This is pretty much the farthest from home that we have "traveled" in the past year!

We now need to make an appointment for dose 2 in four weeks, but we are amazingly relieved. The vaccine situation in our county is very problematic, but increased shipments seem to be on the way. We hope things will improve quickly throughout the country.

ON THE WAY HOME
We caught sight of this great mural in
Romulus, Michigan, on the way to the freeway.

The Upscale Warehouse Lounge.

  2. Congratulations on scoring a vaccine! We're still waiting.

The chinstrap/feedbag approach to masks is such a maddening thing lol Ignorance on display.

  3. Congrats on the vaccine appointment! We are still waiting but I won't be 65 until June so I think I have a bit of a wait.

    Cool mural.

  4. oh oui moi aussi j'aime cette fresque de groupe de jazz, au graphisme très intéressant avec ses visages réduits à leur plus simple expression.le hasard nous a mis chacun sur les chemins de la musique et de la danse

  7. You are blessed. I cannot see myself being vaccinated this year unless a miracle happens.

  8. SO glad to read you got your first Covid shot. Too bad some people don't know how to wear a mask. LOVED that mural. It made me smile because I love music.

  9. Lovely mural Mae, you don't find many music related murals.
Good luck with the vaccine, the first batch of about 150 thousand just arrived in Australia today and the first people will start being vaccinated next week.
Thanks for participating in Monday Mural.

  12. Oh those dreaded chin masks!
I was lucky and got the vaccine early through TheHubs workplace.(Healthcare) When vials were opened and they had no shows they had a short list daily of people to call to use the remaining vaccine. I one on the list, because I could be there quickly, and was. I had the second round Thursday but will continue to mask and remain at home other than quick trips to the grocery store every other week.

  13. So happy for you both! It's so problematic here. My mom has gotten one dose and is scheduled for her second. I'm trying to facilitate getting my dad scheduled from a state away. Obviously problematic there. Love the mural. Overall, a great outing for you!
