Continuing my exploration of breakfast and tea time in popular culture, I've put together a few scenes of these meals from various sources. This post is to be shared with Elizabeth's blog event celebrating drinks. Put together by mae sander at mae food dot blog spot dot com. If you read this elsewhere, it's been pirated.
I've seen all these and love them all! What a great selection!
ReplyDeleteAll prim and proper tea times.
ReplyDeleteI always notice the cups. We'll be watching one of these shows, and I'll say, "I like that cup and saucer" and the rest of the family just looks at me, not having really noticed. I do the same thing with hats.
ReplyDeleteFather Brown has a lovely set of green and buff tea service. It's always on his kitchen table when he's sitting there. I love how you have focused on the British and the famous Belgian detective and their breakfast eating habits. This is a wonderful example of beautiful tea services. I fear I have only seen Hercule Poirot and Holmes and Watson from TV. I always enjoy seeing a good tea service, though and they never disappoint, especially if they are British. Thanks for this always clever and educational example of tea services in British tales you shared with us for T this almost Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a really fun T post. You thought of some great shows to get photos from. And this is clever as I have never seen anyone do a post like this. Nice! Have a great T day Mae.
ReplyDeleteLove the movies - great T post Mae!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love Hercule Poirot´s breakfast set, so... 70's?
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Mae, I used to love upstairs Downstairs and I like Penelope Wilton too in Ever Decreasing Circles, I've never watch Downtown Abbey.
ReplyDeleteThose were the days when tea was served beautifully!
Happy T Day

When I was a child having tea in such pretty cups with an elaborate tea pot was the norm. My mother still has her set.
ReplyDeleteI loved looking at your pictures, not just because i remember all the films/series they are from. I think Downton Abbey was my favorite.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
