September marks the end of summer. We've been enjoying rides out in the countryside, beautiful weather, and the fruit and vegetable harvests of summer, such as tomatoes and stone fruit. |
We found an outdoor farm stand with very nice produce, including some delicious peppers. |
Beautiful squash! |
Van Gough sunflowers. |
The farm stand is around 20 miles from Ann Arbor. |
Slices of bright orange-yellow tomato from the farm stand on my dinner plate, along with meatless Beyond Burgers and Len's hand-made, fire-baked flatbread. |

The sky is really clear and blue...what a beautiful day! Those bell peppers and butternut squashes are looking really good.
ReplyDeleteThat farm stand looks like it is worth the drive.
ReplyDeleteDelicious looking meal and a wonderful Farmstand! We drove by a new one (new to us) when we took a different route to our favorite one ... didn’t turn around but next time we will check it out. It’s my favorite way to shop! (And, in fact, the only way I’ve shopped since March. ( Bill does the grocery store runs if we don’t have things delivered.).
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place! I am especially taken with those peppers and that yellow tomato.
ReplyDeleteThat roadside stand was a great find, and your meal looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. I know I should never visit when I'm hungry, and this farmer's market was a great find. The ones in Wichita didn't sell their wares this year. Your meal looks wonderful. At first, I thought the pepper was a peach. Either way, the meal looks great.
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting to tell you, the little boy in the altered book next to the tag is a Tim Holtz paper doll. He came in a package of around 100. They are solid cardboard and already cut out, which is great if you don't have a lot of time to fussy cut an image.
Mae, where IS that farm stand? It looks pretty safe, worth driving to. Your food looks fabulous. I love peppers -- I prefer them raw and just bought a bunch at last Friday's market. Stuff them with tuna salad and you have a great lunch!
