Humor from an earlier time

You can still find Nicole Hollander’s older books on amazon.com. The titles seem very appropriate for the current lock-down drag-out struggle, though I haven’t looked inside. I used to enjoy the cartoon when I read a newspaper with a comics page. Maybe you still do read one, but I don't. Online, Sylvia is still around at https://www.gocomics.com/sylvia/

And I’m tired of being serious. I hope you are staying sane and healthy and sometimes laughing.

  4. I was SO happy to see you had joined us for T this Tuesday, Mae. I thought those cartoons were great and are good during this lock down time.

I am delighted you shared these with us and want to invite you to join us each Tuesday (or Monday evening) for T. You have experienced so many wonderful trips and are always fixing something delicious, I'm sure adding a drink to the photo wouldn't be much of a problem.

And while I'm at it, I would love to add your blog on my left sidebar, but will only do so with your permission.

  5. I think I forgot to say thank you for sharing these cartoons with us for T this Tuesday. I'm apparently brain dead and in definite need of coffee!

  8. Yes I remember the good old days of Nicole Hollander in the newspaper, although that was in Madison, Wisconsin, which tended to have more "radical" content than the usual newspapers (sort of like Ann Arbor, I presume!)

  9. I vaguely remember those. I need to dig out all of my Bloom County books for a laugh. I wonder how they have aged. :)

  13. I still read the comics every day (in the online version of our daily paper) but sadly Sylvia is not one it carries. I forgot about GoComics! I used to look at it when we were traveling full time (before the days when we could get our newspaper on line).

  14. These were funny, and made me laugh. Laughter is good for the soul, especially now, during these Lock Downs. Connecticut did a Phase 1 "reopen" but everything is pretty much the same as it was during the full Lock Down. And the new rules our King, I mean Governor, made are arbitrary.
