A few meals in Costa Rica

We have eaten dinner at our hotel for the last two nights, once at a Peruvian restaurant, once at the main hotel restaurant with Costa Rican Specialties. We’ve been especially fond of the fish and seafood, which are local and very well prepared, such as the Peruvian tuna dish below.

One Costa Rican dish is chicken and rice, which the hotel restaurant served quite beautifully, as shown below. We also ate it in a much more modest cafeteria on the grounds of the rainforest park where we watched birds and a few monkeys. The cafeteria ladies just ladled rice and beans onto our plates, along with a grilled chicken breast, and also a choice of salads such as chopped tomato with onion.

A dish of potato slices with grilled octopus
was garnished with a violet!
Grilled palm hearts with lettuce and tomato and
a fabulous passionfruit dressing. I also drank a
passionfruit mojito— but no photo.
Deep-fried seafood. The seafood soups were also delicious.

The kitchen at the San Luis Rainforest park where we also had chicken
and rice with chopped tomato salad.
We have many photos of the rainforest and all the birds, monkeys, and other creatures we have seen: so more to come! All photos and blog posts © 2019 mae sander for maefood dot blogspot dot com.
