Neighborhood Crab Feast

Labor Day: our wonderful neighbors set up a beautiful pot luck in their shared driveway. They provided a huge
supply of crabs flown in from Maryland. Contributions included sliders, cookies, mac & cheese, chips,
bacon-wrapped figs, celery with home-made pimento cheese and many many other dishes.
I made a fruit salad which is visible in the photo.

The crabs were cooked before being shipped, and then heated in boiling water
One of our co-hosts, Harvey, did all the crab boiling and delivered them to
the dining tables set up in the driveway.

While adults were gorging themselves on crabs and many other treats, the
kids played in the street, which was blocked off for the occasion.

We and all the guests, including neighbors and friends of the hosts, are enormously grateful to Harvey, Anne, Phil, Ayumi, and their kids for hosting this great party.

  2. That's indeed a FEAST! I haven't had any crabs in a long while...the seafood price here is just ridiculous. Sighs...

  3. I don't suppose any houses are up for sale in your neighborhood? That potluck alone would be a perfect incentive to buy here!
