Inside the Common Grill Restaurant in Chelsea, Michigan: a mural that channels "Nighthawks" by Edward Hopper. |
The relevant bit of "Nighthawks," which is in the Art Institute of Chicago. |
A mural of the towers of the Jiffy Mix factory on another wall of the Common Grill Restaurant, where we had a delicious lunch recently. I love their cheesecake! For another post on Chelsea and its Jiffy Mixes, see this post: Chelsea, Michigan: The Jiffy Plant. |
The view from the corner of Middle Street and Main Street, Chelsea. That is, just across from the Common Grill. Same view of the towers. |
ah oui, il est formidable ce mural qui cite un tableau de hopper !
ReplyDeleteI love those "ghost signs" on the sides of buildings. Wonderful visit to one of my favorite spots! I need to get down to one of those stores and buy a cute whirlygig I saw on an earlier trip!
ReplyDeleteNice work on this mural theme.
ReplyDeleteI really can´t decide which I like most!
ReplyDeleteI love the Nighthawks - very clever
ReplyDeleteNice, that's Hopper isn'it?
ReplyDeletelove the first one - the couple is over viewing the visitors, commenting their choices.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, Mae. Sounds like the Common Grill Restaurant is the place to be for wonderful art and hopefully good food, too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very simular as the Hopper one, but in a funny twist.
ReplyDeleteGreat murals Mae! Thanks for contributing.
ReplyDeleteI would love some cheesecake too please :)
Wonderful murals, my favorite is the first one. The people blend right in to the scene perfectly. I like the old outdoor ad, it looks grand on the brick building.
ReplyDeleteThe first mural fits in just right in that restaurant. It looks like two people watching the diners from the counter. Love it!!
