  1. You know, I did not have a single Caprese salad this summer. What an oversight!

  3. Tomato, cheese and green herbs look delicious together.. and very easy to make. If you run out of herbs, perhaps add a slice of avocado on top.

  4. Caprese salad is a classic from the Isle of Capri, and always has fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and sweet basil. I went off script with a few other herbs from my garden because frost will soon kill them! But avocado would be too transgressive.

  5. Today it just might be cool enough (a high of 79) for a picnic outdoors. I do plan to spend today outdoors reading on my front porch. It's Dewey's 24-Hour Readathon today, and I think I shall enjoy it.

  6. I picked up some of that Trader Joe's soup, but I've yet to hear it up. We had Costco soup last night. You've had some delicious food lately Mae.

  8. It's good you were able to still squeeze in a lunch outdoors. Caprese salad is always a staple when we eat outside with company.. Last week we were swimming outdoors (our club pool is adult only and remains open through the fall). This morning it is 35 degrees and we are wearing coats and hats. Fall is here!!
