| Rereading an old bestseller — Foucault’s Pendulum. Unberto Eco’s magnum opus is not as compelling now as it was when it was new. I may not finish it. |

Love the fun socks! And now you've got me craving nachos.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, excellent looking food and I love the socks!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen Foucault's Pendulum, although I have been to Paris several times. I would have loved to see it. Science in action!
ReplyDeleteLove your socks.
Happy Friday,
Lisca
Beautiful, fun post. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteP.S: These days, we need such posts.
ReplyDeleteGetting lost in Eco and those fun socks made me smile!
ReplyDeleteHello Mae
ReplyDeleteI love the cute socks! Zebras are one of my favorite critters.
The nachos look yummy!
The Pendulum and dome are gorgeous.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend.
Ahh, fun socks are so nice. Mine today have t-rex skeletons on them!
ReplyDeleteAlso now I want nachos, ahaha...
I just bought a pair of warm alpaca socks. Sadly, they are animal-less.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to see Foucault’s Pendulum. What a sight that must be in person!
And nachos it is for supper.
Fun socks! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYour nachos look delish and I love the critters!
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you got to visit the pendulum while you were reading the book originally. Cool! Thanks for sharing the photo. I love seeing that.
ReplyDeleteLove the zebra socks and the soup and nachos look delicious! I tried to read Umberto Eco once and could NOT. Don't know if my brain was the problem or just tried on the wrong day or what.
ReplyDeleteOh,, those socks! I love them. And another night of eating right and well at your home!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this book (I tried reading In the Name of Rose decades ago and couldn't get through it), nor this pendulum. Thanks for something new. And love those socks!
ReplyDeleteI thought the Pendulam was in the Pantheon? Maybe I'm confused. Lovely gold fresco (or mosaic?) #MuralMondays
ReplyDeleteThere are a number of exhibits of Foucault’s pendulum, including one in the Pantheon, and in many museums, but the original that Foucault installed is in fact at the Musée des Arts et Métiers, where I once saw it, as I said. The photo is of the one at the Pantheon.
DeleteBeautiful work!
ReplyDeleteLove the zebra socks, they are fun! I've never read Umberto Eco. The mural is great, as are all Church murals. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Mae.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful you lived in Paris. I hope you loved it. How many years were you there?
