New and Old Objects in My Kitchen

These frying pans that once belonged to my grandmother were in constant use in my mother’s kitchen.
Because I have a smooth-top stove, our only recent use for them has been as a steam source for baking.
The water in them has resulted in rust, as you can see.
Saturday was the December sale of the Ann Arbor Potter’s Guild.

  1. Those bowls are lovely. And it must be nice to have cast-iron frying pans from your grandmother. I have a pan my grandmother used to make biscuits and it's something I love, even though it is battered from use.

  3. Nice find at the sale. I don't have a cast iron pan. So special it is your grands.

  4. Love both. I used to have a full set of high quality cast iron. It was stolen during a break in. I couldn't believe it. The bowls are lovely. Good soup bowls.
