Wednesday Farmers Market

The Wednesday Farmers Market is nowhere near as busy as the Saturday market. Fewer farmers, fewer customers.
But the produce and hand-made items are every bit as good.
For dinner: broiled tomatoes, broiled peppers, and steamed green beans.
All from the market. Plus a steak from the freezer.
I love juicy, tree-ripened peaches.
I bought a box of this fuzzy variety, which we also ate for dinner.
Beautiful vegetable displays are everywhere.
No jam for me today, though it looked appetizing.

We bought some heirloom tomatoes from the stall at left, and a bread and some goat cheese from
White Lotus Farms in the red tent at right.
Lunch: slices of heirloom tomato with bread and cheese from White Lotus Farms. The pepper jam was already in the house.

  2. Nice weekday market! We go to a Tuesday market. Smaller than the Friday and Saturday markets we could go to, but I'm not big on the crowds. Tomatoes are almost over here, but the peppers are going strong.

  3. That's a great score you made there! I would love roaming different farmers markets across the US. I could eat that plate of veggies for lunch any time, Mae.

  4. I actually prefer weekday markets... so much less crowded! I can't get enough tomatoes this year - yum!

  5. We go to the city's large market that carries everything! We go during the week as Saturdays are way too crowded.
