Mark this date...

First Dairy Queen of the year -- following a sushi dinner. The Packard Road DQ opened around a week ago. It's the old-fashioned kind, with only two windows for customers to line up and a picnic table for anyone who doesn't want to eat in the car. (We ate ours in the car. The weather is warm, but not that warm.)

They replaced the old menu board with its modular letters this year. Now they have a lighted sign with the logos of all the oreos, heath bars, butterfingers and other Blizzard contents.

It's so funny, Mae - two other bloggers wrote on this (one an A2 writer and one from MN) in the past couple of days. DQ has definitely become a sign of spring!

And just for fun - where's your fave local sushi spot? I keep hearing raves about the fairly new place in Saline, but I haven't gotten there yet. I've also been happily surprised by the store sushi made in-house at Plum Market

Last night we tried Godaiko for the first time. It was good. We also like the sushi at Totero on State St. and takeout sushi from Whole Foods.

A while ago, I did several posts on sushi -- see "Reading 'The Zen of Fish' by Trevor Corson" posted June 29 of last year, and other posts immediately following it.
